ZL2 Datasheet
Zinc Alloy ZA2 – with a high tensile strength, ZL2 is a Zinc based alloy which can be used for hot chamber pressure diecast components or gravity casting. Used for small castings where hardness and high tensile strength are essential, the high copper content of this alloy can reduce the dimensional stability.
ZL 2 also suffers from a severe loss of ductility during ageing and should be avoided if post forming of the casting is envisaged. When designing a stressed component using ZL2 further reference should be made to the alloys properties, at elevated temperatures, after natural or artificial ageing and the alloys creep properties.
